Grant's L4D2 Skins

Here is a peak at the M16 skin I am working on. I am going for a more clean and realistic color palette. Whoever at Valve thought an M16 was green and blue should be fired. I have only finished a small portion of the receiver.

The right side is the side I have been working on (obviously). This is the side that faces away from the model.

Finished the rest of the receiver, it is a pretty long process doing it all by hand. Thought I would do posts along the way to show some of you guys the process I take. If anyone has any questions or needs help making their own skins I would be glad to help.

Grant,

Your stuff looks awesome. Roland put up a post at FLASH about your skins some time ago. I gave it a bump today.

What application are you using for all this? Photoshop?

Thanks, I am putting a lot of work into this one. I use Photoshop CS3 Extended.

I downloaded most of these, and they look great. I like the Vicodin, it's a lot better than Valve's pill bottle. I haven't got a chance to see much of a difference in the M16, although I used it.

The difference is night and day. The original skin is blue and green and rusty. It is pretty low res and is the same as the one used for L4D. I wish they would release some kind of server setting that could be changed to allow the new vpk system in multiplayer games.

Hey grant, I love your Scar skins, unfortunately because of the VPK system it doesnt work in versus, scavenge and survival! And those are the only modes I play.

Please release the skin and let us implement it via pak method.

I am flattered you joined ST just to tell me this, lol. I will be updating all my FPS downloads to include both the vpk and the vtf's for manual installation. I sent you a PM.

I have updated my more popular skins and the download now contains both the vpk and vtf files for manual installation.
